Overview
Railway Restrictions? No Problem.
This site had several restrictions due to access and location as the site runs adjacent to the West Coast Mainline Railway. The access route for all materials and plant onto site was over a level crossing on this line. As a result restrictions were imposed on the size, weight and height of our plant and pile lengths had to be limited to avoid any chance of impact on rail services.
We utilised vibration monitoring to ensure that driven piles didn't exceed the specified vibration levels. We also scheduled all deliveries and plant movement to be in sync with the train timetables to ensure there was no disruption and no excess costs.
The forward planning and discussion with the client paid dividends as all plant and materials were delivered to site on time with minimal fuss. once on site we carried out all our works quickly whilst maintaining our high standards. Another house foundation system project done well!
