Tritech Ground Engineering delivered a pre-drilled driven piling solution over multiple phases for Taylor Wimpey

The team acted as principal piling contractor on the Taylor Wimpey development in Telford, delivering a robust pre-drilled driven steel piling solution for the site. The works involved the installation of 219 piles, ranging in depth from 16m to 32m, across multiple phased visits to accommodate site logistics and programme requirements.

To overcome the challenging variable and dense strata present on site, specialist Sonic Drilling was subcontracted to pre-drill the pile positions. This high-frequency, water-assisted method allowed the casing to be advanced with precision and efficiency, creating optimal conditions for the subsequent pile installation.

Following pre-drilling, our piling rig undertook the restriking process to achieve the required set and design capacity for each 178mm steel pile. Rigorous adherence to design specifications and continual monitoring throughout the process ensured that every pile met the structural and load-bearing requirements.

By combining advanced pre-drilling techniques with expert piling installation, the team delivered a solution tailored to the specific geotechnical conditions of the site. Our phased approach and meticulous attention to detail ensured minimal disruption to the wider development while maintaining safety and programme efficiency.
