SPI Piling Ltd, were approached to provide temporary works for an existing shell fuel station.
Contractors were already on site, and had carried out demolition works as part of the scheme. During the demolition, concerns had been raised with respect to Noise and vibration, to the surrounding properties, and as such the client requested the use of Silent Vibration free installation methods.
The contractor was required to install new fuel storage tanks beneath the forecourt of the new fuel facility, and this required an excavation to over 3m, in some fairly hard ground conditions.
SPI Piling Ltd, carried out a bespoke design solution utilising temporary piles from our own stocks, and the piles were installed using our Kowan TOSA Wp150 still worker. As the works were temporary, a shoring system was required. Due to the short term nature of the work the contractor opted for a proprietary hydraulic framing system, which SPI worked with the suppliers design team to ensure a seamless design solution. This collaborative approach removed an unnecessary interface, and SPI managed this element as part of their design service.
