Combined Soil Stabilisation Ltd have completed the first visit of two on a new facility in DP World London Gateway Port.
This is the third site on DP World for CSSL having previously completed stabilisation for the pavement foundations on Berths 2 and 3.
The works are being carried out for S Walsh who undertook the initial earthworks. The main contractor on site is Goldbeck. An area of approx. 7,000m2 has been stabilised to a depth of 300mm to achieve a minimum CBR of 30% reducing the requirements for imported stone to only a 100mm surface covering. The site levels were controlled using GPS and easily achieved the required tolerances.
This site again demonstrates our commitment to providing solutions for any size of site as we develop sustainable solutions for projects from £20,000 to £10,000,000 based on the following range of techniques to suit any customer requirement or need.
•Modification/Improvement - the reduction of high moisture content in unacceptable materials to render them acceptable to enable the excavation, placing and compaction of general or engineered fill to be carried out in an efficient and economical manner
•Stabilisation - the mixing of soil with hydraulic binders and water to significantly change the characteristics of the soil to give a product with long term strength and durability
•Hydraulically Bound Materials – the mixing of soils or aggregates with hydraulic binders and water to create foundations for roads car parks and ports
