Overview

Riding the Wind

We are involved in the development, approval and implementation of projects with the relevant authorities and statutory bodies to comply with planning conditions. Our involvement is often required prior to the start of construction. Works carried out on the New Rides Farm project included;

Design and implementation of off-site enabling works within the public highway to enable transport of turbine components to site.
Provision of temporary site offices and facilities including preparation of the temporary site compound and secure storage areas, site accommodation, equipment hire, on-site security for all contractors and the client.
Construct site access including developemnt and construction of site tracks including crane pads, turbine assembly areas and watercourse crossing.
Development and construction of turbine foundations.
Detailed development and consruction of the substation building to the distribution network operator's (UKPN) requirements.
Design, supply, installation and commissioning of 33kV in-farm cabling from turbines to substation building, electrical interface between turbines and the grid connection point, including G59, earth fault and over current tripping.
Design, supply and installation of SCADA cabling between turbines and substation
Design, supply, installation and testing of earthing system for turbines and substation
Design, supply, installation and commissioning of the works associated with the grid connection offer to the satisfaction and requirements of UKPN including all necessary consents and electrical requirements
Reinstatement and landscaping of site, including vegetation replacement/re-seeding
Provision of site management, including Health and Safety.
