
A E Yates Ltd. have partnered with NWG (Northumbrian Water Group) to complete the initial phase of the waste water infrastructure expansion at the Stressholme Wastewater Treatment Works, Darlington.
Completed Works Included:
- Diversion and lowering of existing live services and pipelines.
- Installation of circular piles as foundations to new bases.
- Installation of new pressurised ductile iron pipework (centrifuge), drainage systems (Centrate) and manholes.
- Installation of new service duct infrastructure and draw pits.
- Construction of new reinforced concrete bases, slabs and walls to house the new above ground pipework and M&E apparatus.
- Construction of new RC hardstands, roadways and footpaths.
- Soft landscaping works.
Stressholme Wastewater Treatment Works sits on the outskirts of Darlington, serving a population equivalent of around 100,000 people and treating the town’s sewage before returning cleaned water to the local environment.
Northumbrian Water is currently investing £4.2 million in Stressholme as part of its AMP8 programme, and this is the start of the first major project to be delivered through its new Integrated Delivery Services model.
