M6/M58 Orrell Footbridge, Wigan

Works order through Highways England CWF Framework for General Civil Engineering in HE Area 10. The scheme involved construction of new single span steel truss footbridge, reinforced earth approach ramps, site clearance, removal of existing foundations, earthworks, new concrete bridge foundations including micro piles, installation of steel parapets / handrails, surfacing, drainage works and associated TM and PR liaison. 24/7 working, with the majority of works undertaken at night. AEY also undertook the role of Principal Contractor (PC) for other CWF Specialist partners.
