Overview

Ma6nitude Warehouse

We recently completed a commercial warehouse project at Middlewich in Cheshire. The 1.5 million square foot development is close to Junction 18 of the M6 hence the snappy title Ma6nitude - see what they did there? We worked seamlessly with the earthworks contractor D Morgan, with whom we have teamed up with numerous times, for main contractor GMI Construction.

The net zero carbon in construction project involved two warehouse units of 149,000sq.ft. and 41,000sq.ft. This was the first outing for both our 11th new Wirtgen mixer and Bell Streumaster spreader and they helped in slashing the four week programme by 40% to just two and half weeks. Unseasonably good weather also helped!

One team carried out the project which required 10% CBR structural fill with high end compaction requirements and strength. The volumes, areas and requirements for the finished product were;
10% CBR Fill volume = 4,486cu.m
15% CBR building area = 16,156sq.m
30% CBR externals area = 14,599sq.m
