SPI Pilingg Ltd, were engaged to supply, Install and extract several cofferdams to facilitate the construction of abutments for a new road bridge by the client CPC Civils Ltd, in Stafford.
As part of a new highways scheme, through Stafford, this section of works involved a raised carriageway approaching the river, over particularly poor ground.
Temporary sheet piles up to 13m long were required to be installed to form several temporary cofferdams, to allow driven pile foundations and cast in situ pier structures, to be constructed for the new carriageway.
Piles were installed by using ABI TM Leader Rigs. Proprietary hydraulic shoring frame were also used.
