Overview

Lincomb Fish Pass

Part of the Canals & River Trust delivery programme around the River Trent Area, a number of locations have been identified for new weir construction and fish pass installation.
SPI Pilng Ltd were employed by Kier Infrastructure for the Installation of steel sheet piles acting as permanent retaining walls, within the existing river banks, and water course, to act as a permanent retaining solution for the new fish pass installation.
After the installation of a large causeway to enable the piling works to take place out of the general action of the river, a total of 282 steel piles were installed, utilising our ABI TM20 c/w 30VV, following pre-augering carried out by the same machine. This meant that the same machine was used throughout the operations, minimising heavy transport moves into the area, and saving time and money.
