A E Yates Ltd.’s A580 Project, Salford.

“More than 100,000 people in Bolton and Salford use buses for both work and leisure so the scheme is about improving bus reliability to get you to your destinations quickly and easily. The more reliable the buses, the more people will choose them as a way to get around which will help to ease congestion on the roads. This package of works will also provide improvements for pedestrians and general traffic.” – Salford City Council.

Our site team on the A580 are currently closing lanes whilst maintaining usual traffic to break out existing kerb line in the central reservations and installing the new kerbs to this new line. The line of kerbs have been altered to ease traffic flow which will prevent accidents.

The works that A E Yates Ltd. will complete overall are listed here:

  • Stop lines repositioned to improve capacity.
  • New traffic signal arrangements and timing review to improve efficiency.
  • Improvements to controlled and uncontrolled crossing points.
  • Carriageway widening to alleviate waiting traffic on Lancaster Road
  • New footway construction and surfacing.
  • Bus stop enhancements to improve accessibility.
  • Carriageway resurfacing, including skid resistance application

Night works will commence this week 15/04/2024.
