The benefits of Lime Modification. Combined Soil Stabilisation Ltd (CSSL) have recently completed works at Bexhill-On-Sea for Chartway Civil Engineering. Over 6,000m3 of very soft soils were treated with lime to render them suitable for engineering fill and avoid offsite disposal.

After an initial assessment of the binder addition required ahead of the site works CSSL worked with the client to assess the actual quantities used and valued the works accordingly.
The use of the Wirtgen integrated mixer was perfect for the site and enabled the soils to be treated effectively as tractor towed equipment couldn’t travel through the soils. The site works were a great success and we look forward to an ongoing relationship with a new client.
